About Me

I began my career in 2003 as a personal trainer, helping people achieve their fitness goals through tailored sessions and group training. Over time, I transitioned into education and now have more than 20 years’ experience teaching in further, higher, and apprenticeship settings.

My academic background includes a Certificate in Education (Bolton University, 2008), an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiology (Sheffield Hallam University, 2011), and an MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science (University of Chester, 2021). I’m currently completing my PhD at Coventry University, researching how exercise influences energy intake, appetite, and related hormones (due to finish 2026). My work includes conducting experimental trials and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

I’m a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and have presented my research at BASES (2023) and other conferences.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, fell running and triathlon. I completed Ironman UK in 2017.
